Albums
Toto's discography consists of 13 studio albums and 4 live albums. There are also a few compilations. In addition to the release of original music, Toto has also done work with other artists and on soundtracks for films. Toto has won numerous Grammy Awards for their work.
Before the formation of Toto, band members did session work for other musicians. 토토 꽁머니 , bassist David Hungate, and keyboardist David Paich (the son of session drummer Marty Paich and brother of guitarist Joe Porcaro) played on Boz Scaggs 1975 album Silk Degrees. Toto was formed in 1976 in the wake of the collaboration.
Turn Back, Toto's third studio album was criticized by critics for lacking hit singles. In 1985, lead singer Fergie Frederiksen left the group, and the band held auditions to find a new frontman. Guitarist Steve Lukather was chosen, and the group recorded their 1986 album Fahrenheit.
Toto released Toto XX in 1998 to commemorate its 20th anniversary. The band went through old recordings and tapes to create the special record. The album was well-loved by fans and Toto embarked on the tour with former members Bobby Kimball Steve Porcaro and Joseph Williams.
In the course of the tour for the album 40 Trips Around the Sun, drummer Leland Sklar left the group and was replaced by Shem von Schroeck. In the year 2017, Toto released the double-CD set Falling in Between. It included live recordings from the tour as well as an interview with the group.

Toto is a rock band from the United States that was formed in Van Nuys in Greater Los Angeles in 1977. In 1983 the band released Toto IV, which earned them worldwide praise. The band began a world-wide tour to support the album after its success. During the tour, Bobby Kimball, the lead vocalist, was arrested for drug charges. The band decided to let him leave at the conclusion of the tour, and they hired guitarist/singer Joseph Williams in his place. Drummer David Hungate also left the band following the tour. Leland Sklar took over his place.

Toto has released numerous music videos. The band has released a number of compilation videos and DVDs. The most popular video for the group is "Africa" which has over one billion views on YouTube. The video is set in a library with the band performing atop an African book stack.

Toto embarked on a worldwide tour after the release of their album. The group was comprised of touring musicians Lenny Castro and Shannon Forrest. Warren Ham, Shem von Schröeck and Shem von Schroeck were also in the group. In addition, guitarist Steve Lukather released his second solo album, Luke.
In 1985, Fergie Frederiksen, Toto's drummer, left Toto due to personal reasons. The group held an audition to find an alternative for Frederiksen.
Before and during the formation of Toto its members, they did session work for many artists. Drummer Jeff Porcaro and bassist David Hungate played on the album Silk Degrees by Boz Scaggs which led to the band's formation. Paich played keyboards on Steely Dan's records, Seals and Crofts and Sonny and Cher.
In 1998, Toto began working on an album called Old Is New. The album featured three brand new tracks as well as a number of completed recordings of older songs. The album was a global success and the band toured on tours to promote it.

Toto is famous for their hit song "Africa", recently reunited to promote their new album, All In. The album was released on November 6, 2018 and included three brand new tracks from the upcoming 40 Trips Around the Sun, and also completed recordings of four other older tracks that featured Jeff Porcaro on drums and either Mike or Steve Porcaro on bass. The album also featured an original cover version of Weezer's track "Hash Pipe," which the band added after hearing it on the radio.
